First you come up with an idea, then you need it commissioned (budget), pre production happens, then the shooting schedule needs to be planned, production takes place, marketing the film (eg, social media, trailers, launch party, press releases, interviews, film festival, websites ect...), finally exhibition (release).

Ownership types:
Horizontal integration; a single parent company will own multiple companies in the film industry.
