When talking about the film industries what do we mean by the "Big Six"? Why might it become the "Big Five"?
The "Big Six" are the major film makers that dominate all others. Most films that reach cinemas are produced by the "Big Six". They are;
-Warner Bros. Pictures
-20th Century Fox
-Paramount Pictures
-Universal pictures
-Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia-Tristar Pictures)
-Walt Disney Studios
The big five refers to all the all the studios BUT Disney due to them only making children's films and being over ruled by all others, although they are the biggest children's film producer it only targets children whereas the other studios do all sorts of movies and target all sorts of ages. Also Disney have been looking to purchase 20th Century Fox which will cause them to merge together, exiling one of them out of the "Big Six".
