Lucozade Drink Advertising

This drink was made in 1927 as a drink that was meant to allow the user to get better in ill health.

Then in 1987 it was rebranded as a sports drink. "better than water"

Campagne;
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare- old owners of Lucozade
sold in 2013 to Suntory for 1.35 billion pounds.
Gareth Bale made an add saying the drink was "better than water". This add got banned due to false information in 2013.

Social context:
The adverts are fit and well built men and skinny and good looking women and this will put pressure on young people to look like that. Drinking lucozade will aid this.

Cultural context:
Getting a celeb to advertise your product will create lots more attention because there is so much celebrity endorsement going on nowadays.

Image result for in a different league
Analysis of this advert;
The man is looking straight into the camera, this shows that he is serious about what he is advertising. The bright blue back ground makes the man in the shot stand out which then makes the image more serious. The main colours that stand out in the image is the bright yellow and the blue. These are the colours on the bottle of lucozade. This will link the bottle to the success of Gareth Bale to Lucozade and making the person viewing the image to want to buy Lucozade. Blue could also represent refreshing cool drink, appealing to the people who play sport. The blue is also a Masculine colour and being behind Bale links the colour to the masculine personality of Bale. The advert looks very professional which would make people want to buy the drink more.  Putting Gareth Bale as the person advertising puts pressure on men because he is a good looking man, and him advertising lucozade gives the viewer a false accusation of lucozade will make you look good.

Minecraft First Essay

Minecraft is an open sandbox video game where players can build and do whatever they want to do, this is one of the things that make the game such a success. The way the players can do what they want in the game makes the game not like any other game, the huge unlimited world and possibility's make the game unique and unlike any other game. Mojang has done this to make the game popular and stand our from any other game on the market, this is why it sells the amount it sells (154 million). This is a massively popular game and the main reason is that the map has unlimited potential which means it never ends.

Minecraft also makes money through selling things like texture packs and skins that players can buy and download which changes their game or makes different  things in the game look different. Skins in the game make the player look different for example there are skins for around 5 pounds and they change the in game character to an olden victorian man. This doesn't change the game at all but it makes other people in the online mode see you diffrent, this is only to show off to your friends and not to change the game play at all.

A test video of Minecraft was released on the 13th of May 2009 to see how people would react to a game that is as ambitious as this and obviously the response of this video was very positive because as mentioned before no other game had tried something like this before, when the game was released instead of releasing the game with everything that it has to offer and rushing it, Notch made it so that he would regularly update the game with new game modes so that the players of the game would not get bored of the game, this was also a massive success because it meant people would constantly come back to the game to investigate the new features that have been placed in the game. Another way that Notch and later on Microsoft would make more money for Minecraft they would have the optional cosmetic skins and texture packs that would make the players character look different and also the background of the game so the objects in the game would look very different, as mentioned they are cosmetic meaning that they give the player no advantage in the game apart from that the world looks different so that it is fair for the players who don't want to spend anymore money on the game. Especially when the game was released on consoles like Xbox One and PS4 in 2011 the game was marketed and advertised very frequently so that it could convince new players to buy it or people who bought it on the PC to buy again because they might have friends who play on Xbox instead of PC and obviously the graphics upgrade so that people could experience it with better graphics.

750 Word Essay

Radio 1 breakfast shows have selected the host specifically due to their ability to interact with an audience well as they have a big following over social media and on radio due to the lively and bubbly personality. They must have this great user interaction to reach their viewing targets. They do this type of interactions like polls and actual games to hook the listeners on and make them feel apart of the show so they gain the connection with the hosts and radio presenters.
For example, Nick Grimshaw has been involved in the past the pasty, an incredibly simple challenge but the way they involve different people, therefore, showing different classes and personality along the way gets people to talk and deliberating, about the show each day or at different times within the segment. Whether their comments of the show are on the radio 1 website or Instagram or in person but mainly their response is on twitter as it is an instant media.

They way they got people hooked on such a simple of task of getting a pasty to someone who had never tried one before, just made it even more fun as it had a purpose, no matter how insignificant the purpose it was, it made it fun and the humor helped carry this game along.
Also recently the panic room with Greg James when they captured him and he was only allowed out with the code that he had to figure out and he had no internet only twitter and incoming calls from the audience, to help try and solve each part to get the code and as the riddle was so in-depth and wild it was able to be dragged out for  a whole week before he was able to find out the code. But as it was so long it had loads of different and interesting characters giving their opinion and thoughts on the matter to create discussions to ten get people talking about it and creating this sense of involvement with the public which increases the figures as more people will try and help. Again, this will involve all different classes of people from B all the way to D as everyone can listen to the radio as it’s a free service, so people have no problem tuning in even just for a brief moment to check what’s going on.

They also use polls on Instagram and Twitter to get immediate votes and decisions on how the show is going to pay out to the audience feel as if they are playing a big part and even if your not listing and just scrolling through your feed that might draw you in and entice you to into listening to find out what’s actually going on In the show. For example they use this for the music hour where the audience chooses what songs get played for an hour so they can vote between a selection of choice’s and after the next song that song then gets played and it shows fans joining in but also tells the show what songs their audience is liking at the moment so is in a way a bit of primary research and therefor can help the DJs select the right music and then improve figures.
Another example is the radio 1 big weekend the biggest show that radio  put on every ear with the biggest acts f that year headlining their best songs and then this is released first on the show live on air so then people join in to find out who’s there to see if they want to buy tickets to go and there for another form of interacting. Plus, they release special guests on socials so that people get discussing it and then join into the live show that they can see the exclusive interviews with the guests in anticipation of the big weekend.

To conclude, radio 1 try as best as they can to get their fans and audience to be involved and cater to their audiences best interest as this will help keep the fans coming back and the fact it is easy and free to access all of the interaction this means every single kind of person can then join in so no one feels left and out all have a connection to one another like one big family. Radio 1 have done a good job in including all into the accommodating show.
