  • Look at the Guardian website/Daily Mail website and compare top five stories on each home page.
The story on both pages are different due to the audience there aiming at, This is present in the guardian because there story's are custom to there audience which is ABC1 which means they are a higher intelligence and wouldn't enjoy gossip type news.
  • As you scroll down the websites, are there any articles on the same stories? You will probably have to click on the news link for the Daily Mail (this is important to remember) to see if any are comparable.
Both the guardian and the Daily Mail have a story about brexit today but with a few differences, the guardian  has a story about how Britain will fail if brexit takes place and the daily mail says about how the next step has taken towards brexit and how Britain will achieve lots when it happens. This shows the left and right wing views of both news papers.
  • Then copy and paste some of the reader comments and reflect on what it says about them.
"The useless and the drunk. We¿re doomed!"
The daily mail has a person who comments who disagrees with the story about brexit which is unusual because the Daily Mail are a right wing paper and are for brexit to someone commenting means the person commenting is looking at the wrong news paper.

  • Then look on social media and see what they have prioritised to post/reflect on reader comments there also.
Online the daily mail talks about green house gasses on there twitter warning the public about this but there is no news on the brexit or any politics.

The guardian talks about Jeremy Corbin who is speaking about how the government are unrealistic.

Both of these are different to one another and shows how The Guardian focuses on politics and the Daily Mail focuses on the gossip and celebs.
